Being in the wrong place at the wrong time is Eric O’Meara’s story of a motorcycle crash that left him with broken ribs, a TBI and other physical injuries. On July 29, 2022 an erratic driver who was going almost 100mph on I-29 in North Dakota, caused O’Meara to be tossed from his motorcycle.  This same driver that caused O’Meara’s life to change in the blink of an eye, proceeded to go on a 30-minute crime spree across Fargo causing two more accidents before shooting a North Dakota State Trooper.

O’Meara has not had an easy recovery, and the road to better days is still long.  But, he will soon be marrying his sweetheart for the past decade, and thanks hyperbaric oxygen therapy for accelerating his healing.

For someone who used to be go, go, go, the extreme fatigue, brain fog, mood swings as well as sometimes slowed speech and mobility caused from his brain injury have O’Meara feeling defeated at times. One thing O’Meara credits to speeding up the toughest parts of his recovery is his time spent at Swanson’s Hyperbarics. Studies show hyperbaric oxygen therapy can dramatically and permanently improve symptoms of chronic TBI months or even many years after the original head injury.
